I don't think this is agreeing with me at all. I have no energy and I am so down in the dumps. My eldest son says I'm not eating enough and that's affecting my mood. Well, I guess that could be the case.
I haven't had breakfast (given up on the cereal thing- too much milk!), and I usually forget to have lunch. However, against popular belief I am led to believe that missing meals actually makes your body panic, and store fat when it does get some food. I need to check this out. if so, I'm not doing myself any favors.
Well, I shall say, "Sod the diet!" for the rest of the day. I'm going to cook a roast dinner, and have a glass of wine this evening. I will still do some exercise- hopefully I won't keel over.
Will let you know how I get on.
Lori.

Why Does Food Dominate Everything When You are On a Diet?
Missed a couple of days- sorry. But I haven't missed the diet. I have been sticking to my two bowls a day, but I have to say that nothing much is happening weight wise.
The walking is going well, and I am feeling better because of it- and so is the dog. The Wii Fit isn't seeing much action though. I just can't back into it- not sure why.
I do seem to be more focussed on food though than ever. I try to work out calories in foods- but I'm not very good at it! And I seem to be drawn to sugar filled foods more than ever. I'm not necessarily eating them, but I am buying them, which is a bit weird. Will have a day off tomorrow as I'm at my son's sports day. Will be in touch soon. xx

Day Three and Feeling Pretty Low.
So the third day came and went. Well, I would love to say that it went very well, but I'm afraid it didn't. I felt a bit miserable today- not sure that it's to do with my new eating regime or not. I went walking with the dog, but she was a pain, as she kept sniping at other dogs. She is usually very well mannered, but today she acted like I felt!
In terms of the diet, I had my cereal in the morning, but couldn't face it at lunch time, so had a bag of low cal snacks instead. Yuk, they were gross, and I guess they didn't help my mood at all. I think my whole problem is my eating pattern. I drink lots of red bush tea, and a little decaf coffee during the day, and don't eat properly. Then I snack on junk- and that just means I pile on the weight in all the wrong places. I will stick to my two bowls tomorrow, but it's the exercise that is really important.

This Ain't Gonna Be Easy
Well, I did well with my two bowls of cereal for breakfast and lunch. But dinner was a different matter. I was experimenting with cakes for my latest Pool Party page on my find-party-ideas.com website. I made a fun cake using jello as the water in a bathing pool cake design- and it looked pretty good. My problem was the frosting. I wanted something a little different. I thought that something not quite as sweet as regular frosting would counter the sweetness of the jello.
Well, I did quite a lot of tasting (involving cream cheese, heavy cream and vanilla pudding!) which was obviously not very low cal. I purposefully did not add any more sugar, but it proved only a 50% hit. Half my tasters loved the frosting and thought it went well the cake- the other half hated it! And I ended up eating an extra piece to show that I thought it was great. Oh dear- that, combined with the BBQ did not do much for my slimming. But, I did walk for an hour with the dog, and I did do 10 minutes on the Wii (not quite the 30, but better than nothing). Haven't weighed myself as it's early days, and don't see any inches dropping off the waist yet- but we'll see how it goes.

Slim for Summer? Here We Go Again!
Well I certainly need to. My face has got fat- I have a pad of fat down each side of my face that I can see will turn to jowls if I do nothing. My thighs are huge and my middle has expanded so that I look like a dumpling. Oh yeh, and my butt does look big in this- in fact in everything!
So what to do. I bought a Wii fit, which is great when I do it. But I always forget. So new resolution- 30 minutes on this every day. And the dog- I need to take her on a LONG walk every day, not just a couple of quick "round the blocks". (she gets her exercise as other people walk her as well). I always vow to do this, but then I get on my computer and start working and before I know it, it's time to go and pick the kids up, then it's time to make dinner- then homework help, then bedtime, then- well another day with no exercise.
I'm also going to try this cereal diet- a bowl for two mealtimes everyday for- how many weeks? Not sure, I'll check. But this seems doable. I don't know how much weight I want to lose. I just know that I need to slim my butt, thighs, stomach and face- so whatever I have lost when I do these things, is what I have to lose- if that makes sense! I've read that losing 2lbs a week is achievable, so I'll aim for that. I know that cereal alone won't do it. I need to make sure that I don't snack on junk in between times, and that I do some meaningful exercise. It won't be easy.
Don't have any specific clothes I want to get into. No plans for the beach this year, so not worried about the bikini. Would love to just get rid of the excess weight so that clothes hang nicely and that I don't have any rolls of fat hanging over my jeans! I also want to feel a little more comfortable when I'm throwing my parties over summer. I don't want to feel self-conscious in my summer dresses, or cropped pants.
Well here it goes. Day One toward my new look. I'll post here every day as an incentive to actually stick to it. Wish me luck.
